Thanks for your substantive comment. I am not quite ready to start predicting what the future in Afghanistan looks like, but its likely to be bleak. Your comments are on point.

That said, I am reticent to blame Biden entirely for the mess. I also question whether "maintaining the status quo" would have worked out over the long term.

I am not a foreign policy expert, so I readily admit the possibility of being wrong, but I was with the 70 percent of Americans who wondered whether continuing a 20 year war was right.
