Did Donald Trump Install a Gold Toilet in the White House?
Did the departing First Family and their staff help themselves to a few souvenirs on the way out of the White House? Among items seen being carried out last month were a bust of Abraham Lincoln, lots of framed photos, and a stuffed animal. It is unclear whether the items in question were White House property, but eyebrows were raised. Everyone seemed to find theft plausible, given the people who were involved.
Nobody has said whether Trump himself took anything, but what about that rumored gold toilet, the one the Guggenheim offered to lend him? Press reports indicate the offer was turned down but is it possible that Trump lied?
If the toilet was installed in the White House, the thought of President Biden using it may have been too much for 45 to bear. Maybe Trump removed it and had it sent south. The ex-president may be enjoying it already at Mar-a-Lago. After all, it fits in well with the rest of the décor there.
If Trump took the commode, he might not be guilty of theft. He could argue that he is simply extending the loan of it. Keeping the toilet could be within his legal rights. If the loan agreement, if one exists, failed to specify that it had to be returned once Trump was no longer president, that would be a problem And, even if it did, Trump might be able to keep the priceless throne. Because he continues to believe he won the 2020 election, he would argue in court that he is still president. . . .
